JERRY BABB



Jerry Babb was inducted into the THPA Hall of Fame in 1983 becoming the 9th Member to be inducted. Jerry’s Hometown is Del Rio, Texas. 


She is a 10-Time Texas State Women's Champion from 1977-1986. Jerry Babb was the first dominating Women's Champion in THPA history. Jerry won her first tournament in 1977 at the Del Rio Open and never looked back. Later that same year Jerry won her first of ten consecutive titles - the most consecutive titles of any woman in THPA history. As of 2020 she also ties the THPA record for most titles held by a female pitcher. 


Jerry's record during her ten-year streak was 55/1 with an overall ringer percentage of 47.68%. Of all of her titles, her performance at the 1982 State Singles in Stephenville proved to be her best. Jerry finished undefeated with a 61.30% which, at the time, was the record for the highest tournament average in the Women's Division at State. The record stood until 1990.


Aside for her incredible ability on the courts, Jerry was loved by her fellow pitchers for her smile, fellowship, and wonderful spirit she brought to the game. Jerry was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1983, becoming the first woman to be inducted.
