1987 HOF Bob McCharen #13

Bob McCharen

Bob McCharen was inducted into the THPA Hall of Fame in 1987 becoming the 13th Member to be inducted.

Bob McCharen has been a key figure in THPA organizational history. He has served our organization as President, Vice President, Treasurer, Editor, Regional Director, and Assistant Regional Director. Bob was instrumental in forming the Houston Club, and was prominent with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. He was the 1984 recipient of the Mose Sanderson Award.

On the courts, Bob has been a top flight pitcher for more than 30 years. Incredibly, he has pitched in Class A ever since joining the THPA in 1974. On three occasions he has finished in 3rd place for the Class A State Championship, and in 2005 he came about as close as one can get to the top prize without capturing it. In an exciting playoff game, he lost a couple ringers, and finished in 2nd place, missing the title by just two points.

Continuing to faithfully serve the THPA, Bob has been a regular contributor and consultant for the Texas Ringer Website, and is one of the primary reasons for the website's success.

Bob McCharen was inducted into the THPA Hall of Fame in 1987.
