Duck Engelhardt


Duck Engelhardt was inducted into the THPA Hall of Fame in 2005 becoming the 30th Member to be inducted.


Duck started pitching organized horseshoes in 1984. He was an original charter member and helped organize the Riverside Horseshoe Club in East Bernard in 1984 & 1985. He served as president of Riverside Horseshoe Club since 1984 and still holds this position. 


Many of the original members of the Riverside Horseshoe Club are no longer part of this club, but Duck has kept this club together throughout the last 20 years. He has pitched in every league at Riverside since 1985.


He has served as 1st VP for THPA. During this time he was instrumental in forming the Waco Club. He has also pitched in 3 World Tournaments and holds two 2nd and one 3rd place finishes in his division. He has also served as Assistant Regional Director for many years.


He has been associated with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Horseshoe Contest Committee. He has served on this committee for many years. He has helped run the horseshoe pitching contest and also was a judge for the contest. He has pitched for the Lamar-Needville Go-Texan Committee for many years. He has won 1st place several times over the years.


Duck loves to pitch horseshoes and has competed with the top pitchers in the state for many years. He has made many friends and enjoys seeing everyone at the tournaments. He encourages and cheers on all, even his competition. He promotes and talks horseshoes wherever he goes.
