Othana Donnell


Othana Donnell was inducted into the THPA Hall of Fame in 2005 becoming the 32nd Member to be inducted.


Othana joined the Fannie Mae Horseshoe Club and THPA in 1991. She was elected President of the Fannie Mae Horseshoe Club the following year and retained that position for the next 13 years. She organized the Fannie Mae Horseshoe organization into a sanctioned club with a sanctioned league the first year in office. She has been a major force in establishing and maintaining the courts in Littlefield for 15 years, making it one of the best horseshoe facilities in Texas.


She was elected 1st Vice President of THPA the following year. During that time she held meetings in surrounding towns to help members organize clubs in Dumas and Borger. She has continued over the years to visit with members and city officials to establish clubs and courts throughout the State of Texas.


She served as the THPA Secretary for four years, THPA Treasurer for six years, and is now serving her first term as President. During this time in office, she has assisted in writing the THPA by-laws, designed and printed brochures promoting horseshoe pitching and THPA, assisted with printing of the Ringer, handled THPA business in a professional manner, and continues to visit with members and cities regarding new clubs and increasing membership. As President, she reinstated the winter meetings for delegates of the clubs and independents in order to better serve the membership and organization.


At any tournament, local club or state, you will always find her working. She will work the pits, help prepare concessions, keep stats, keep score, or whatever is needed to make each tournament as successful as possible.
